I Love To Love (Review by M@th Pitbull)

O primeiro álbum solo de Tina Charles, que estourou nas paradas de sucesso em 1976, tornando Tina conhecida em todo o mundo com apenas 23 anos de idade. O álbum é inteiramente voltado para o gênero da Disco Music, uma vez que na década de seu lançamento, era a febre mundial da época.

I LOVE TO LOVE – A história da garota que quer namorar e o namorado não pensa em outra coisa a não ser dançar e dançar. A letra é uma reclamação. Na verdade, ela quer atenção, mas ele não larga as pistas de dança. Os violinos encantam esta canção, deixando-a, eu diria, até com um ar triste, se a ouvirmos atentando aos violinos. Porém, a energia de Tina a deixa alegre, com seus gritinhos mesclando estes dois sentimentos.

YOU SET MY HEART ON FIRE – Esta canção traz a moça que espera pelo seu príncipe encantado, aquele que deixará seu coração em brasas. O baixo impera, dando o rítmo nescessário para deixá-la super dançante. Não tem como não ouvir esta canção sem ao menos bater com o pé no chão. Ela só deveria ser um pouco maior.

HEY BOY – Ela vê este garoto, com roupas e um jeito que a atrai. Eles flertam e ela fica pensando no que ele pretende. A letra não é tão forte. No final da frase ´Yeah I´m a like it Yeah I´m a like it´ na segunda estrofe, o grito masculino ´Hoo´ não foram bem colocados na hora certa, mas o rítmo e os tambores de fundo a deixam dançante e alegre.

TAKE ALL OF ME – Uma letra bonita, onde uma garota se entrega totalmente a um rapaz, confiando nele plenamente, porém ele deixa a desejar neste romance. Mas o melhor desta canção é o ritmo super dançante. Destaque para o xilofone (ou vibrafone, não sei ao certo).

LOVE ME LIKE A LOVER – Ótima música. Na letra, Tina quer ser amada como nunca e exige isto de uma maneira clara e objetiva. Nesta canção, os violinos retornam, tornando o rítmo mágico, atraente e dançante. O único problema é que esta canção merecia ser maior. É muito curta.

WHY – A única balada do álbum. Sentimentos diferentes começam a surgir no coração de uma moça e ela só quer entender o por quê de tudo isto, sem pereber que está apaixonada. Uma letra incrível, mas a canção não precisava ser tão extensa. É a maior do álbum.

HOLD ME – A música começa bem, com um ritmo contagiante, uma letra romântica, onde Tina pede para abraçá-la e não soltar dela jamais. Muito bonita, porém no final, a impressão que temos é de que a música já tinha que ter acabado, que foi o suficiente, mas a repetição da frase hold me deixa a canção um tanto cansativa. Um erro da produção, porque esta canção merecia mais atenção, mais letra.

DISCO FEVER – Música extremamente dançante, feita para tocar realmente nas pistas das discotecas. Fala exatamente sobre a febre da disco music da época, onde as pessoas dançavam até não poderem mais. Mas é outra canção que se perde no final, repetindo muitas vezes a frase Everybody got a disco fever! São exatas 17 vezes. Mas tá valendo, porque se a música foi feita para as discotecas, imagino neste momento as pessoas dançando em trenzinho de braços erguidos, cantando freneticamente esta frase.

YOU SET MY HEART ON FIRE part.2 – Uma versão com parte em karaokê para nós cantarmos, muito boa idéia! Mais uma vez imagino o pessoal na discoteca cantando a letra. Mas como a versão original, deveria ser maior.

DISCO LOVE – Tudo o que eu quero é um amor de discoteca. É isto ou algo do tipo o que a letra diz. Também muito apropriada para as pistas, uma vez que quase não tem vocais. Um tanto futurista, com efeitos robóticos. Para dançar, ótima, mas para ouvir, falta letra. A boa melodia merecia uma boa letra. Resumindo, um álbum dançante, com músicas alegres e histórias românticas.
